The best movie this month

I’ve watched Transformers, Ratatouille, and The Simpsons in the past few weeks. The Simpsons is definitely the best and funnest movie this month. The laughters start at the very beginning and then never stop until the end of the movie. The scene at the church when grandpa freaks out is what I like most.

And these unforgettable lines:

Homer said “This book (The bible) doesn’t have any answers!”

President Arnold said “I’m elected to lead, not to read.”

Be sure to check out the games in The Simpsons movie site.

Ratatouille

Finally watched Ratatouille (Rat-a-too-ee) during typhoon signal number 8 was up. It’s a good movie. Plenty laughs and gorgeous renderings. Pixar never lets me down in terms of image quality. And this time, the story is also interesting. If you haven’t seen it on the big screen yet, you should!

Doraemon

The Doraemon movie showing in Hong Kong now is actually from yester-year.

The adventure in magic kingdom Doraemon movie is 2007 ‘s, and as usual there are hidden gems require you to play and click through the whole site before you can access these features. Have fun!

BTW, the 2008 Doraemon movie – the legend of green giant already has a web site with trailer & wallpapers.

Finally met Spider-man 3

Yesterday, I finally have some times to watch Spider-man 3 and it isn’t so bad as commented from various critics. However Spider-man 3 is trying to push too much and in return there isn’t enough details. 3 villains in 1 movie is far too much to film. I wish it was just about mainly Venom and side track with Harry Osborn.

Sandman although does help connect some dots for the movie series but this role’s story is far too thin, and so is Gwen Stacy.

I give 3.5 out of 5 stars.

I miss Spider-man

After a few weeks since Spider-man 3 is on the big screen, I’m still not available to spare 3 hours for it…

Meet the Robinsons

Watched “Meet the Robinsons” at the premiere and it’s fun. Very simple plot and is executed smoothly. Another great Pixar motion picture.

I like the main character Lewis’s roommate, Michael. Funny facial expression about his eyes. Just make me laugh.

Seems it’s gonna be a block bluster this Easter.

Keep Moving Forward

Ghost Rider

Watched Ghost Rider starring my favorite actor Nicholas Cage. It’s a decent entertaining movie even though it’s far from close to its comic book origin. CG is good. The bike is interesting.
The movie is shot in somewhat old school Hollywood formula. You’ll understand when the previous rider left Cage (Yes, there are 2 riders). However it’s too brief in some scenes which make the story a bit thin and left many unexplained situations.

It’s worth the movie ticket money but I wouldn’t buy the DVD as suggested by SCMP movie review.

All in all, Ghost Rider is better than Fantastic Four in terms of screen play. I would give 3 stars out of 5.
Looking forward to watching Spider-man 3 in May and The Simpsons Movie in August or September (can anyone confirm the 08.09.2007 date on their site)?

The Simpsons

The new trailer of The Simpsons movie pinpoint well to the current status of animated motion pictures. 3D animation sure does add a lot of details visually but after all it’s the story that brings people the most impact. So be sure to watch the trailer.

This one sure does in my list of must see movies in 2007.

World Trade Centre the movie

My wife & I watched this movie last Saturday. It’s a good movie overall but we found the impact is less stunning than the TV interview of the 911 survivors from the 2 towers. Yet, it’s still a touching story with a little bit of laughters for us when the 1 of officers was having illusion.

X-Men 3: The Last Stand

Watched X3 last night and I am disappointed. The CG is beautifully done but the story totally sucks.

There’s no more in-depth character development or any inner self revealing.

Although, there’s some unexpected scenes but the whole screen play is too thin. It’s just lack of substances!

My last comment about X3 is … get Bryan Singer back!

Next movie should be Pixar’s Cars in July. Then probably Superman Returns directed by Bryan Singer. Then maybe Ghost Rider starring my favorite actor Nicolas Cage.
