New iPods are here. Who needs iPhone!

On 5th September, 2007 Apple releases iPod Touch. Practically it’s iPhone without phone in 8GB & 16GB capacity. So developers from all over the world can start development for iPhone with iPod Touch instead of iPhone. What needs an iPhone now!

Besides, iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano have new colors. Nano now can playback videos too. Sweet.

iPod Classic (means it’s old fashion?) replaced iPod Video. Both Classic & Nano spot new UI with cover flow which is reported in rumor sites before.

Unlocked iPhone @HK$16,800

This is what I would describe as nuts. According to Apple Daily today, an unlocked iPhone is selling at HK$16,800 (US$2,147.93). With such amount of money, I could have bought the 2.2GHz MacBook Pro with a thousand dollar change back. And you can always get your own iPhone with some friends in US. So why bother spending the extra 10 thousands on a phone that can’t send out Chinese SMS at this moment?

Now there’s GUI to activate your iPhone without iTunes and AT&T subscription. Here comes the iActivator.

Unlocking? No, iActivator doesn’t unlock your iPhone really.

Basically it only enables the iPod and WiFi functions of your iPhone. So that makes the iPhone technically not a phone…..hmmm…..

Need more answers about Apple iPhone?

If you happen to need more answers about Apple’s iPhone, David Pogue has written The Ultimate iPhone FAQ.

I particularly want to get more information in the application area since Apple said that there is no third party developers. It would be a waste for the cool input interface if there is actually no real applications to run on the iPhone itself. If that is the case, there isn’t much point for people to switch to a new people.

But hey, people do buy themselves a new phone whenever a new model comes out, don’t they?
