Diversions from Apple
I have to say that it’s disappointing for Apple delaying Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard from June to October 2007. I was expecting some cool new Mac with Leopard in June.
Apple has staged many diversions to their brief statement of the Leopard delay.
Diversion #1: Apple TV. The very upgradeable and user friendly HD device without any HD content.
Diversion #2: 8-core Mac Pro has released and seems to be the only Intel machine with 3GHz quad-core if I ain’t mistaken. I want it but I’m just not ready to folk out 3000 US for it.
Then Apple officially puts iPhone on the chopping board for reasons of the delay (look for the statement further down dated on 12 April, 2007).
Diversion #3: Now at NAB, as expected, Final Cut Studio 2 has been unleashed. Sounds cool but I’m not a video production guy.
All in all, I just hope the Leopard isn’t the Copland scenario back then. At least it sounds more solid than any vapor ware.
If you are old time Mac users, you’ll remember the days that Apple promised to bring us the ultimate cool and great Mac OS – Copland (supposing it’s Mac OS 8). It turns out to be a vapor ware, leaving all of us high and dry and dragged Apple down a big time.
This is the first time for scheduled Mac OS X release being delayed. Could iPhone really screws up big time, requiring all the resources Apple can get to fix it to catch its launch in June? Not to mention that mobile phone carriers have already been signing contracts with their customers which could bring multiple party major lawsuits if there’s no iPhone in June.
Or could it be Apple facing some major bumps with Leopard considering all the platforms it needs to support (PPC & Intel)? Even my PPC days are numbered, I haven’t yet spent a penny on Universal Binary upgrade for any of my softwares. Anyhow, I’m still looking forward to seeing the release of Leopard.

Just happen to clicked on a Apple Store link while reading an iPhone article on Bare Feats and Apple Store is showing “We’ll be back soon”.
So is there a surprise product coming out from Apple or just some pure maintenance of their online store!? Stay tune……

There is NO new products. Just pure maintenance I guess. Where is the new MacBook Pro that I’ve been waiting for….
Dell, Sony, Apple’s notebook may brust in flame?!
I’ve read quite a few post about Dell notebook’s spontaneous combustion and a Sony notebook brusted into flame in the last few months.
This week, Apple has joined the gang of buring notebooks and my trusty 12″ PowerBook G4’s battery is one of those. You can check if yours is in the Apple’s support page.
Don’t know if I’m lucky of what. My old battery is about 70% of its fresh capacity. Hopefully the replacement will give me longer battery life.
