Apple Event on 7 March

The Loop has reported Apple is having a media event on 7 March, 2012.

From the image of the invitation, it looks like that the next iPad has no home button at all. It says

We have something you really have to see. And Touch.

Let’s see if there’s a 7 inch iPad 3 (no likely) and whether  the home button is really gone on the next iPad. iPad 3 with Quad core A5X & A6 chip, 4G LTE, bla bla bla… keeps flooding the web these few days.

Good view on Flash & iPad from Zeldman

Here’s a good read from Zeldman.com – “Flash, iPad, Standards“. Will this be the true wake up calls for those creating non-accessible web and for those who paid the minimal fee to create their corporate non-accessible web sites? We’ll see about that and I hope this will really happen as a web professional.

In the article, it mentions Apple not putting Flash onto iPhone and iPad isn’t about revenge. It occurs to me killing Newton MessagePad and reinventing another personal device is a revenge from Uncle Stevie J to John Sculley 8p

2010 The year of Mac tablet so to speak

New York Times has posted an article titled “2010: The Year of the Tablet” which describes the 10-inch screen (Apple) tablet capable of streaming video, and 2 hours battery life with always on web connection. Well such battery life would drive you nuts, isn’t it?!

With the Apple special media event scheduled on 26th January, 2010, and the report of Mac developers being told to prepare for full screen apps, all points to a product release from Apple. Hopefully Steve Jobs will address this special product in person to stun the world (again).

May it be 7-inch or 10-inch Mac tablet, I hope this is as good as expected. Sure we’ll see people carrying the Mac tablet on public transit like now with iPhone all over the MTR & bus.

HK$9,000 for iPhone 3G S in Hong Kong

Apparently the parallel imported iPhone 3G S has landed in Hong Kong and it will cost you a whopping HK$9,000. That’s crazily stupid.

Steve Jobs got liver transplant 2 months ago?

The Wall Street Journal said Steve Jobs had liver transplant 2 months ago and yeah, he’s expected to return to Apple this month! Get well soon, Uncle Stevie.

Cheaper iPhone on Monday?!

Rumor mills are digging hard about anything Apple for sure. A number of sources say Apple will introduce a cheaper iPhone as soon as next Monday during WWDC.

It’s logical to reduce the price of iPhone to get more momentum in its market share under the current condition of economy. But I wonder what would be the feature left out. Right now, for those not interesting in iPhone are saying it is lack of features they really need or not up to their expectations. If there are more features to be removed from it, will it piss off more people? Or will it gain some new ground for the lower budget consumers?

Steve Jobs returing

According to MacWorld, Steve Jobs is returning to work at Apple sometimes this month. Rejoice, my friend! Wonders we shall see?

Video is coming iPhone but not third generation?

Apple has just posted a job ad recruiting low level programmer for iPhone familiar with the ARMv7 family. According to MacRumors, this means faster CPU (currently it’s ARMv6) and bringing video related functions to iPhone. But this is late May already. These functions are less likely to make it to the July release this year. Will this be a software upgarde later, meaning iPhone third generation is already using this ARMv7 CPU or it’s targeting for the fourth generation iPhone in 2010?!

Countdown to 1 Billion Apps without Hong Kong

What a bummer! Apple’s “Countdown to 1 Billion Apps” in iTunes Store event is open to all country where iTunes Store is available but NOT Hong Kong.

The price is great and you can enter as many as 25 times per day!

The information from MacWorld below:

All you need to do to enter the contest is go to the App Store and download an app. You are automatically entered to win a $10,000 iTunes Gift Card, an iPod touch, a Time Capsule and a MacBook Pro. You can enter up to 25 times per day, according to the contest rules. You can also enter the contest without a download.

Sweet huh? So hope over to iTunes Store or enter the contest by filling in the form.

iPhone 3.0 preview next Tue

In case you still haven’t read elsewhere, Apple is having a media event next Tuesday to preview the iPhone 3.0.

Wired say Steve Jobs (as expected) won’t show up in the event but it should have major changes with the iPhone OS.
