First aniversary dinner for the official launch of The Peninsula Hotels web site
Finally we all get together for dinner for the first anniversary of the launch of The Peninsula Hotels web site. And the cake is wonderfully made to resemble the love & hate, sweat & blood that everyone chip into when building the Flash driven and yet SEO friendly web site. Love the “404 error” spot on the cake LOL

My first iPhone app is under review
I’ve submitted my first iPhone app, ezFengShui, to Apple for review. Hopefully if all goes well, it will appear in the iTunes App Store next week or so. Finger crossed.
ezFengShui will show you the good and bad spots of your home and office base on the 8 House Feng Shui theory.
You can read more about this app in my iPhone App Station blog.
Digital black hole
Haven’t written much lately due to high volume of work flooding in. All my energy is sucked into the digital black hole. This is gonna continue for some more time. Anyhow this is the first post since I got my iPhone 3GS and this very post is posted from iPhone. The only thing to complain about is the battery. It won’t last 1 full day when I am sending a bunch of locations and doing Twitter, IM, web browsing, email and etc intensively. iPhone is not that bad as a 3G phone but it’s certainly not for every Joe who needs to run around without a wall socket nearby.
Next iPod Touch gets camera & microphone!
Wired reports that the next iPod Touch will get camera and mircophone! There will be so many more Skype rivals in the future.
Total cost of ownership of iPhone 3GS with 3HK
So I’ve visited the retail shop of 3HK to try to order my iPhone 3GS. There are of course different usage plans that won’t make much sense unless you choose the premium plan with unlimited data usage. Even though you could have skipped the usual but ridiculous “tunnel fee” of HK$12 per month, 3HK will force you to select some extra services of at least HK$28 per month. Here’s the PDF that tabulates the total cost of ownership.
Out of all those “extra services” that you need to choose no matter what, I only wants the Visual Voice Mail. After all it’s an iPhone feature! Here’s the full list of extra services:
- HK$8 – Visual Voice Mail (So you need to pay extra for this iPhone feature)
- HK$10 – Easy Data Cap VAS (Ensure you won’t pay more than HK$290 extra beyond the 500MB data usage. No use if you are with the premium plan)
- HK$15 – Hello Ring (the ringing melody that you have no choice)
- HK$18 – SMS Pack
- HK$28 – 60 Multimedia credits
- HK$28 – 100 Text credits
- HK$28 – 300 Minute Basic Air Time Pack
- HK$58 – 650 Minute Basic Air Time Pack
You can see that only Easy Data Cap VAS plus SMS Pack would add up to exact HK$28 or the 60M, 100T, or 300 min air time are exactly HK$28. However none of these are useful at all for me.
The next useful set would be Hello Ring plus SMS Pack which would add up to HK$33. But what I would like to have is Visual Voice Mail plus SMS Pack which only add up to HK$26. At the end, I think I would just get the damn 300 Minute Basic Air Time Pack.
In short, I won’t mind paying the premium, but really give me what it’s worth, vampire lord!
HK$9,000 for iPhone 3G S in Hong Kong
Apparently the parallel imported iPhone 3G S has landed in Hong Kong and it will cost you a whopping HK$9,000. That’s crazily stupid.
Steve Jobs got liver transplant 2 months ago?
The Wall Street Journal said Steve Jobs had liver transplant 2 months ago and yeah, he’s expected to return to Apple this month! Get well soon, Uncle Stevie.
