iPhone (2.0?) coming to Hong Kong finally

According to a local newspaper Economic Daily, THREE HK will be carrier of iPhone (no mention of version 2.0 or 3G) in August. But it’s an non-exclusive deal with Apple. PCCW hasn’t deny or admit whether they will be one of the carriers of iPhone.

iPhone 2.0 arrives on 9 June?!

WIth AT&T deploying its 3G network, various reports that it’s time for 3G iPhone to roll out. Some even mentioned a specific date 9th June, which is the date that Steve Jobs will give speech on the keynote of WWDC. I wonder if this could bring iPhone to Asia officially.

Disney Mobile

Wow, the Japanese Disney mobile phone is so cool. The handset has its own character set for messaging with animated Disney character icons!! How about that, huh? Why all these cute & fun stuff is limited to the Japanese market? I would like to see a Disney iPhone. Since Steve Jobs is on the Disney board, he gotta have influence to make use of Disney / Pixar characters. Please, give me a Disney / Pixar iPhone!!

3G iPhone is coming as soon as … errr

According to many rumors sites, both UK & US Apple store indicate current models of iPhone (8GB & 16GB) is unavailable. And the latest iPhone 2.0 firmware has a setting for 3G network option. So the question is will 3G iPhone be announced on the usual update Tuesday? Or will there’s be storage bumped version of iPhone (16GB & 32GB) be announced on Tuesday? Or the worst thing – iPhone will be unavailable until the release of 3G iPhone in June?!

iPhone 2.0 with Chinese hand writing input?!

On the blog 蘋果島上的生活 (in Chinese) shows some screen shots of iPhone screens with presumably Chinese hand writing input. If this is for real, that would be awesome!

I personally hate the input method available on mobile phones. If the hand writing input recognizes characters well, iPhone sales will definitely boost a whole lot more in Chinese market.

Vodafone will be selling iPhone in 10 countries

Vodafone announced that they will be selling iPhone in 10 countries:

  • Australia
  • the Czech Republic
  • Egypt
  • Greece
  • Italy
  • India
  • Portugal
  • New Zealand
  • South Africa
  • Turkey

Sadly Hong Kong didn’t make it to the list. So does that mean PCCW will be selling iPhone in Hong Kong?

Update Tuesday again

As TUAW puts it, it’s update Tuesday again. Apple has released new iMac today with top of the line CPU reaching beyond 3GHz.

Now the frontside bus is at 1066MHz. I wonder when will we see such speed on MacBook Pro. Maybe sometimes in June during WWDC as well?

8G iPhone End-Of-Life in UK!?

Engadget posted O2’s internal memo suggesting the 8G iPhone has reached EOL (End-Of-Life). So if you are in UK and considering getting iPhone, you may want to hold on for a little while. This is likely to indicate new models are coming. But everyone is guessing the 3G iPhone will be introduced in WWDC in June. My guess is another storage bump for the 2G iPhone.
