New iPods are here. Who needs iPhone!

On 5th September, 2007 Apple releases iPod Touch. Practically it’s iPhone without phone in 8GB & 16GB capacity. So developers from all over the world can start development for iPhone with iPod Touch instead of iPhone. What needs an iPhone now!

Besides, iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano have new colors. Nano now can playback videos too. Sweet.

iPod Classic (means it’s old fashion?) replaced iPod Video. Both Classic & Nano spot new UI with cover flow which is reported in rumor sites before.

iPhone activator … without the phone part

Now there’s GUI to activate your iPhone without iTunes and AT&T subscription. Here comes the iActivator.

Unlocking? No, iActivator doesn’t unlock your iPhone really.

Basically it only enables the iPod and WiFi functions of your iPhone. So that makes the iPhone technically not a phone…..hmmm…..

iPhone as iPod & WiFi device only

MacBook Pro speed bump arrives!

MacBook Pro now gets a mild speed bump to 2.2GHz & 2.4GHz, LED backlit screen, 802.11n, up to 4GB RAM finally. Too bad it still uses the same case, meaning no easy access to replace the hard drive. The 17″ model also has the option for HD resolution at 1920 x 1024.

But why the heck 17″ can have 250GB HD while 15″ can only have 200GB HD?!

Tough choice between 15″ & 17″ as I want the HD resolution but not the weight…

Refresh the Finder

If you happen to be editing some files within a sea of files and folder and just want to pick it out after edit, the Finder won’t let you do so sometimes as it doesn’t update the last modified date. Refresh the Finder can help and it works like a charm. As TUAW pointed out, it’s just a 5 lines AppleScript. Very very cool and this is just what I always need.

Score is here

Bare Feats has posted some test result between 8-core & 4-core Mac. Sounds like better to wait for Leopard (and CS3) for your next purchase.
